CISP Field Day 2015

So often we have events that showcase the artistic, academic, or musical talents of our students, and rightfully so. However, as a PE teacher, I always want a chance to show off what my students have learned in my class. That day came. CISP's field day was on May 27th. I, along with the other PE teachers, got to show our school community things we have worked on in class. We have worked on pacing, sprinting, teamwork, sportsmanship, and ball control; all those things were shown. I also  taught our youngest students kickball and practiced it with the older elementary students. Those skills were also put to the test.

We broke our students into teams. We invited families to join in the festivities. Students and teams competed in silly relay races, the 100 meter dash, discus, throwing  competitions, and a mile race. We also had a tug of war tournament between the teams. It was a day filled with cheering, yelling, encouraging, sweating (for those that were competing, otherwise it was pretty chilly), smiling, celebrating.

Praise the Lord for:
1. Good weather, after the original day had to be postponed due to rain.
2. No injuries (or at least serious ones).
3. Good attitudes.
4. Strength for myself and my planning team to pull this event off without too many hiccups along the way.
