Winter Banquet

At the beginning of February, the Christian International School of Prague had the annual Winter Banquet. The Saturday evening included dressing up, a fine dinner, and lot of dancing. Students, parents, staff, and other guests were all welcome. I don't know how else to say it, but we had a blast.

Leading up to the event, one of the teachers taught a swing dancing lesson to the entire secondary.  The other PE teacher and I also helped with the lesson. The middle school (my classes) also had some extra lessons in class the Friday before the banquet. That is when my students learned that dancing isn't my strong suit. We practiced the basic step, some spins and turns, and how to respectfully ask someone to dance as well as accept the offer to dance. I think those lessons really paid off. Our students were swing dancing all night. The boys did a great job of asking the girls, making sure every girls was asked to dance at least a couple of times. The girls were very respectful when they accepted. I was a proud teacher.

They weren't happy I was taking pictures of them.

Not enough girls in my class... so they decided to dance with each other.

My other MS PE class... still less girls than boys.

Some of them are better dancers than me.

2. My students learned a lot about swing dancing and the etiquette of dancing.

Prayer Request:
1. Unrelated, please pray that my visa renewal application would be officially in process and be approved.
2. Our seniors and their homeroom teacher are a little burned out from planning this event and many others in the past few weeks.
3. A students at the international school in Budapest (we have many TeachBeyond teachers there) died this past week. Pray for his family and the school.
